Getting started ... Download the OpenQVis executable and make sure you have installed all the required external libraries. You should also download one of the demo data sets to begin with. STEP 1: Run the OpenQVis executable and press - or select Open from the File menu. STEP 2: In the file dialog select Volume Data Set *.dat as file type. Select the dat file of the demo data set you have downloaded. STEP 3: The data set is displayed in the viewer. Select the hand icon from the right tool bar and use the mouse to rotate the data set with the left mouse button. You can alternatively use the wheel widgets. Use the volume editor from the Editor menu to change the visual appearance of the volume. STEP 5: Depending on the capabilities of your graphics card, there are more or less draw styles available. Try out the different draw styles by selecting them form the Volume menu. Note that some of the draw styles require preprocessing and it may take some time until the data set is displayed.
